What isn't here
- Prices. None of these sources publish one, so nothing is marked free or paid. Check the source before you set out — many of the parks listings are free, but this site won't tell you that it knows.
- An exact spot for every event. 91.4% are placed to a neighborhood. The rest give only a borough, so they'll show up in a borough filter but not on a block.
- Most ticketed venues. A lot of the city's music, theatre and talks are published only on venues' own calendars, and those aren't all indexed yet.
Nothing here is estimated. Where a detail isn't published, it's left blank rather than guessed at.
Corrections and takedowns
Everything here is rebuilt from someone else's feed, which means a listing can be wrong in ways this site can't see. If you run a venue and something about you is wrong, out of date, or shouldn't be here at all — a listing, a photograph, the venue itself — write to hello@happenings.town and it will be fixed or removed. No form, no account, and you don't have to explain why.
Two things worth knowing before you write. Listings are rebuilt from the source every day, so a correction made at the source arrives here on its own within a day — and a correction made here alone would be overwritten by the next run. Photographs come from Wikimedia Commons and are credited to their authors below each one; they're linked from Commons rather than copied onto this site.
Privacy
No accounts, no sign-in, and nothing here asks you for anything. Traffic is measured with Vercel Web Analytics, which sets no cookies and builds no profile across sites. Alongside the page view it records which listings get opened and which links leave the site — the event or place name, its neighbourhood and category, and the page it happened on. That's a measure of whether the index is doing its one job, which is sending you somewhere else. It isn't tied to you, and there is nothing to opt out of because there is nothing identifying you to begin with. Questions to the same address.
